OCC non-event non-report

Josh June 19th, 2009

Quite a few of our club members made it out to the “non-ramble non-event” also known as the Ozark Cruiser Crawl (OCC) for a good showing. The coordination done by all the TLCA clubs involved really came together to make a great event that really wasn’t “planned”.

Here’s the thread where we discussed the trip and showed off our pictures. Enjoy! –> OCC 2009 Pictures

I hope the rains end soon.

Glen May 6th, 2009

WOW, it seems like its rained everyday for the last 2 months. Last night we had some MAJOR hail :yikes: I woke up at 3 am to my dog trying to get under me in the bed to hide.
This morning first thing i checked to see if the vehicles had hail damage but luckily they didnt.

I’ve been quite sick the last month so I didnt get to go to the events I had planned since early March. Yea it sucks. The economy has really put a dent in wheeling.

Our good friend Daryl Hornsby made the trip down to Katemcy TX for the Last Landcruiser Roundup to be held there, and even had Marlin of MarlinCrawlerInc. to drive his FJ40 truggy. Full story here—> http://www.ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=127834.
The owners of this awesome place decided to build on the property so its now closed to offroading.
We are loosing places to offroad left and right. We must do all we can to protect our public areas or we will loose them all.

If you come here and read this and are new to offroading please go to our forum http://www.ttora.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=200 and sign up. Its free and you will find members in all area’s of Arkansas to go offroading with in LEGAL wheeling area’s. Please dont trespass, mudding in a farmers field is VERY UNCOOL.

Our upcoming event to be at is the Ozark Cruiser Crawl at the Superlift park in HotSprings Arkansas. There’s trails for everyone from a stock truck on street tires to rock buggy’s.
So come on down and have a great time. Link to this event—> http://www.ttora.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1512335&postcount=5

2008 Lone Star Toyota Jamboree Summary

Josh January 23rd, 2008

Well, another LSTJ is in the books. What a blast! AR-TTORA members Josh Burks, Lance McSwain, Wade Herron, and Dennis Fant made the trip to Gilmer, TX for one of the largest Toyota events in the region. The weather was perfect, but at night it got COLD! Everyone made it home without breaking anything important, and a good time was had by all.

October News

Josh October 23rd, 2007

Hello fello Arkies,

Well, September was a eventful month, we had our first “official” event as a club/chapter and I totaled my beloved 79 Toyota.

The Arkansas Roundup, Sept 21st-23rd , was a blast. I didn’t get to wheel as much as i wanted due to running around getting things done but I had a wonderful time. I can’t wait until next year. You can find lots of pictures from our various members in our Events section in the forum. (Click Here)

On the 29th, I was on my way home from taking my dog to the vet and a woman turned left in front of me. I leaned to the right to grab my dog just as we had impact. My brakes engaged maybe a second before I was thrown into the windshield/dash. I was very lucky that I didn’t get dead or seriously injured. I did have a concussion/TBI, a badly sprained neck, lots of glass in my scalp, and a banged up right leg. People - WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS and secure your pets somehow! My dog Nitro broke his back and I asked my best friend Brandon to put him down for me. It was a very SAD day for me. I lost my best friend Nitro, and my beloved Toyota.

I would also like to add, if you can’t buy liability coverage, DON’T MOVE THE CAR! No, the lady that caused the accident didn’t have insurance.

So be safe, thank your friends, and think ahead to protect yourself.

Take care,

Glen
